It’s possible to be brilliant and broken at the same time

One of the things that I’m learning is the importance of the word authenticity in this world. It’s very easy, when things are tough, to try and hide and run away from what is really true. We much prefer to sit in a place of being brilliant and hide the fact that we may be broken or hurting inside.  Yet the irony it, it’s more powerful to be brilliant and broken at the same time than it is to be brilliant and hiding our brokenness.  So my line this week is to those people who are hurting – be honest about that fact rather than masquerading and pretending that all is OK.
