James made the finish line of his mammoth 6 day, 124 mile row on Monday 1st May at 16.30. He crossed the line in good spirits accompanied by his wife, Olivia and his great friend James Kendall who rowed with him for the final day. Their route took them from Old Windsor to Teddington Lock where they were greeted by a rapturous reception at the Lensbury club.
The weather was kinder than predicted and they were free from breakages from the ever ageing boat but the finish could not have come soon enough. By the final day James was suffering physically and had been challenged at many stages along the way, but he dug deep and will think back to this experience for many years to come when he talks about giving that little bit extra and challenging yourself to do something new.
After James’s arrival there were speeches and welcome home drinks at The Anglers Pub in Teddington and the boat was whisked away back to it’s home at the Leander Club.
The support has been incredible throughout. The fundraising has been beyond generous. Thank you so so much to everyone. If you’d still like to donate please visit the Just Giving page.
