It’s been a tough decision to make, but sadly James has decided that he cannot complete the Great Tandem Challenge as originally planned. Training has shown James that riding on the back of a tandem on busy roads is far more of a challenge than he initially thought. After many conversations with friends, family and cycling experts, James has come to the conclusion that he and Jack simply do not have the experience required to complete the ride safely.
However, the ride will continue but in a new format! Taking place over the same week (beginning 30th April) James will ride on the back of a tandem the full distance of 230 miles but around a cycle track instead. He will attempt to ride up to 50 miles a day accompanied by friends and local volunteers. Still a huge feat but hopefully without the dangers of the proposed road cycle ride. The ride takes place at Odd Down Cycle track in Bath.
